No cook ever wants to know that their food was gross....I was always told if you don't like it ...eat it anyway. I guess I have not mushed this into my kids brains yet....
So, here is what my sweet little boy hid in the washer and dryer......
Every morning for breakfast I make Cody eggs..... I mean every morning! He loves them and particularly loves my eggs....see I make him my famous 'green eggs'.
I get spinach, bell peppers, carrots, beets and flax seed....steam, puree and freeze in ice cube trays and presto... a veggie cube of green gold! I feel like at least he gets some vegetables and fiber first thing in the morning....and he loves it!
The girls think that I am just mean for making this for him...but he absolutely LOVES them...I thought....
The other day I opened up the washer to put in a load and by golly look what I found....
yumm yumm....guess he was saving them for another day... A little later when the clothes were done and I was about to put them in the dryer...well by golly AGAIN....the next day eggs....I'm thinking he didn't want to hurt my feelings so he was putting them in a 'safe' place but I deep down inside think that after almost 2 YEARS he is just sick to death of them.....so sad for me!
Lately when we ask Cody if he is a girl or boy he proudly answers...DIRL! When we correct him by telling him he is a boy...he very sternly tell us...
"NO, Doe Doe (Cody) a dirl (girl)"!
While we all laugh, Dell gets a cold shiver up his spine! hehe
But, I'm still not sure why he is so insistent on thinking he is a boy.....this is just a very small sampling of his poor little life surrounded by 'dirls'....we are convinced he will either be a GREAT husband or never marry!
Today my baby (I still consider her that since she was my 'baby' for so long before Cody took that title) turned 10! Wow! 10 Years old. She came into this world a little peanut weighing a whopping 5 pounds 15 ounces and today is a beautiful young lady. Following our trend this year with birthday presents....she had a room make-over just like big sis! So, here is the final product....
...I'm pretty sure the look on her face says it all! She loved it! She told me that was the best day of her life!
Today was the TAKS test so I made our usual eggs and toast but made it a little more 'pretty' for the birthday girl!
Happy Birthday my sweet girl! You are such a joy in our lives!
So, how does a 12 year old celebrate her birthday?
First you wake up to find out that school is cancelled for ice! Could it get any better then that?
Then you make homemade donuts....watch out Krispy Kream!
Then you head to the media room and get settled in for yet another epidose of Lost. My children are obsessed with this show. Then a surprise visit from your cousins!Play with the digi makeover..... All this while my mom, step dad and myself are working on a one-day room make over!
Here is the big reveal......
New paint, new headboard, new curtains.....
new wall art.....
repainted furniture.....
....and what did she think?speachless is a good word for it!That smile made it all worth it!
Birthday Hug from brother.... ....and blowing out the candles....o ya....I forgot the candles so we are pretending.
